Decorate Your Baked Goodies

Here, you'll find step-by-step directions to help you decorate your delicious baked treats!

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies

About the Cookie Designs:

Using my NatssGoodEatss Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, I made these yummy and adorable treats for Thanksgiving dinner! They dress up the gluten-free cookies and make them look adorable.

Materials:

  • Black frosting
  • Green frosting
  • Yellow frosting
  • Orange frosting
  • Toothpicks
  • A small paper plate
  • Small candy eyes

To create brown frosting. I just mixed the orange and black frosting on a plate.

Pumpkin Design:

  1. Outline the pumpkin shape in black frosting on a cookie
  2. Squeeze a small amount of orange frosting into the middle of the first outlined circle and with a toothpick, spread the frosting to the edges of the outline, filling up the whole circle. Be careful not to mix the black and orange, just have them meet.
  3. Repeat step 2 with the remaining two circle shapes
  4. Spread some green frosting on a paper plate and with a toothpick, draw a line above the middle of the center circle
  5. Set the cookie aside to let the frosting dry

Turkey Design:

  1. On a small paper plate, squeeze some orange frosting and black frosting There should be 2x the amount of orange frosting compared to the black frosting. Mix thoroughly until it all turns brown.
  2. With a toothpick, scoop some of the brown frosting onto the cookie and spread it in a circle formation
  3. Place two candy eyes above the center on the brown frosting
  4. Squeeze some yellow frosting onto a paper plate and with a toothpick, scoop up a small amount and place it below the eyes. Don't press on the brown frosting, but gently let the yellow stick and then slightly pull away so that the frosting becomes a little pointy. If you feel that not enough was used, feel free to add more.
  5. Use the orange frosting to start squeezing at the edge of the brown frosting, but then stop squeezing as you pull away. This will make the frosting a little pointy. Repeat about 5-6 times around the top of the brown frosting.
  6. Set the cookie aside to let the frosting dry

Chocolate Snowmen and Reindeer on Oat Cookies

About the Cookie Designs:

These cookies are topped with white chocolate and milk chocolate to combine with the sugar and the cookies. They are super yummy and cute, and they are perfect for Christmas! Hope you have fun decorating your cookies! Happy eating!

Materials:

  •  For Snowman Face:

            - 1 cup white chocolate chips (melted)

            - black frosting

            - orange frosting

            - large marshmallows (for the melting snowman)

  • For Reindeer Face:

            - 1 cup milk chocolate chips (melted)

            - black frosting

            - red and green M&Ms

Snowman & Melting Snowman Design:

  1. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave (it won't become soft like a spread, but the chips should melt enough that you can spread the them on the cookie using a knife)
  2. Spread the melted white chocolate chips on the cookie you are decorating
  3. Snowman Face (a) Use the black frosting to create two dot eyes and multiple small dots to create the smile (b) Use the orange frosting in the center of the snowman's face by squeezing the frosting on the cookie and pulling away as you stop squeezing. This will make the nose look pointy
  4. Melting Snowman (a) Place a large marshmallow close to the edge of the lining of the white chocolate (b) Use the black frosting to create two small dots for the eyes on the marshmallow, disordered dots on the cookie in front it, and slightly connected to the bottom of the marshmallow to create the arms. You may want to use a toothpick to spread the frosting out to create the 'twig arm' design. (c) Use a toothpick to scoop some orange frosting and dab it in the middle of the marshmallow
  5. Set the cookies aside to dry

Reindeer Design:

  1. Melt the milk chocolate chips in the microwave. Unlike the white chocolate, these chips will completely melt and when you stir the warmed up chips, it will create a soft spread
  2. Scoop a generous amount of spread onto the cookie you are decorating and spread it over the cookie
  3. Place a red or green M&M on the lower half of the chocolate spread
  4. Use the black frosting to create to medium-sized eyes
  5. Then, use the black frosting to create the antlers at the top/edge of the milk chocolate spread. You may want to use a toothpick to spread out the black frosting for the antler design
  6. Set the cookies aside to dry
